Sturgis location closures, is this the new normal?

Saw the WARN notice for the Sturgis facility yesterday—73 people out just like that. It’s starting to feel like they’re picking off the smaller regional centers one by one to pad the bottom line before the next quarterly. I’ve been hearing whispers on the floor that this isn't just about 'operational efficiency' anymore, it’s a systematic downsizing. My manager keeps parroting the corporate lines about 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s just code for 'we don't need you anymore.' Anyone have insight into whether leadership is planning on hitting the regional distribution hubs next, or are they sticking to the smaller satellite offices for now? The anxiety in the office is reaching a breaking point; half the team is already updating their resumes on lunch breaks. I’ve given five years here, and honestly, seeing how they handle these notifications makes me feel like I’m just a line item they’re trying to erase.

It is honestly heartbreaking to see another facility hit the chopping block like this. I have been following the news about these regional centers, and it really feels like the company is prioritizing shareholders over the livelihoods of their staff. When you see these large-scale layoffs happening under the guise of efficiency, you have to wonder where the long-term planning actually lies. It is hard to trust corporate statements when the people actually doing the work are treated as nothing more than a line item on a balance sheet. Stay strong out there, and I really hope everyone affected can find something better soon.

Honestly, this is just standard procedure for them at this point. If you have worked there long enough, you know the script by heart. They roll out the buzzwords like 'operational efficiency' and 'market adjustment' right before they pull the rug out from under hundreds of families. It is not even about being surprised anymore; it is just predictable, cold corporate strategy. They are clearly looking to lean out as much as possible to keep the stock price floating. Do not expect any transparency from management, because they are just reading from a script provided by legal. Keep your options open and update that resume.
