Feeling the pressure in Fremont

Is it just me, or is the atmosphere at the Fremont campus getting toxic? Even if you haven't been touched by the recent cuts, the vibe is just off. We’re being told to do more with less, headcount is frozen, and projects are being shuffled around like musical chairs. It feels like leadership is squeezing every last drop out of us before the next round of headcount reductions. I’ve been here for four years and I’ve never seen the office this quiet. People are literally just waiting for the email or the calendar invite for a 'quick sync' that we all know is actually the end of the road. I’m starting to look at other semi companies, but honestly, I wonder if the whole sector is going through the same thing right now. Anyone else feeling like the floor is about to drop out?

I’ve been feeling the exact same way. It feels like the company culture has shifted from innovation to pure survival mode. The constant shuffling makes it impossible to focus on actual engineering work because you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if your project is next on the chopping block. It’s exhausting to perform at such a high level while being treated like an expendable number. The silence in the office is deafening, and honestly, the lack of transparency from leadership is making it really hard to stay motivated. Just keeping my head down and updating my resume at this point.

Look, it’s not just you. The mood at the Fremont site has been consistently bleak for months. Everyone knows the drill by now—management talks about 'operational efficiency' while we’re all drowning in extra responsibilities from the colleagues they already let go. It’s a vicious cycle of burnout. If you’re feeling the pressure, you’re reading the room correctly. Take care of yourself first, because the company certainly isn’t going to prioritize your well-being over their quarterly targets. Definitely time to start looking elsewhere before the next wave hits.
