Feeling the pressure lately... anyone else?

Hey everyone. Been here at Lam for about 5 years now, in the engineering side, specifically on the equipment services team. Lately, the vibe has been... tense. Lots of hushed conversations, people looking over their shoulders. My manager's been pretty cagey about project roadmaps, and we've had a few 'reorganizations' that just felt like shuffling deck chairs. No official word on anything, but the constant 'we need to do more with less' talk is really starting to get to me. Saw a few people from our sister team get 'transitioned out' last month, but it was so quiet, like it never happened. Anyone else picking up on this? Is it just my group, or is the whole company feeling it?

Yeah, I've been hearing similar rumblings across different departments. The 'efficiency drive' talk is definitely ramping up, and it doesn't always translate into clear directives, which is frustrating. It feels like there's a lot of uncertainty about where things are headed, and that naturally creates a stressful atmosphere. Hang in there. Maybe try to connect with colleagues outside your immediate team to get a broader sense of what's happening.

'Reorgs' and 'more with less' are pretty standard corporate buzzwords, especially in this industry right now. It doesn't necessarily mean layoffs are imminent, but it does mean management is likely trying to optimize resources or perhaps bracing for a market slowdown. Focus on your own contributions and try not to get too caught up in the office gossip. If you have specific concerns about your role, it might be worth scheduling a direct conversation with your manager, even if they're being cagey.
