Feeling the ripple effect after the KY site news

Is anyone else feeling the anxiety spikes today? Even though I’m not at the Kentucky site, the 500+ headcount reduction is hitting everyone pretty hard across the other hubs. Management keeps parroting the same 'strategic alignment' lines during the all-hands, but we all know the drill by now. It feels like we’re just numbers on a spreadsheet that they’re trying to optimize to keep the margins looking pretty for the next quarterly report. I’ve been here for four years and I honestly don’t recognize the culture anymore. It’s gone from collaborative to everyone just keeping their head down and praying they aren’t the next one to lose access to their email. If you’re one of the folks impacted by the latest round, I am genuinely sorry. Take the severance, update the resume, and honestly, look at getting out of semi if you can. It’s a brutal cycle and it never seems to end regardless of how well the stock is performing.

I hear you. The 'strategic alignment' rhetoric is wearing thin for everyone, regardless of the site. It’s hard to stay focused when you see friends getting cut for the sake of quarterly margin targets. That four-year tenure you’ve put in deserves more transparency than we're getting from leadership. Take a step back if you can, because the constant anxiety is draining, and it’s clear that right now, the numbers matter more than the culture we were promised when we signed on.

Honestly, the constant churn is becoming the company's defining feature lately. It feels like every month there’s a new round of 'optimizations' that just leaves the rest of us doing the work of two people. If you aren't feeling secure, you aren't alone. Most of us are keeping our resumes updated because the trust is effectively gone at this point. Just focus on yourself and keep your options open—don't let the spreadsheet mentality make you feel like your actual work history doesn't count for anything.
