Is Lam Research immune to the current semiconductor slowdown?

Seeing a lot of negative news about other chip companies and some outright layoff announcements. Makes me nervous. Lam has always seemed pretty stable, but are we really that insulated? I haven't personally seen any red flags in my department – projects are still moving, headcount seems stable. But the broader market sentiment is hard to ignore. Is anyone seeing any subtle signs of belt-tightening or hiring freezes that haven't been widely communicated? Just trying to gauge the temperature. It feels like if it's happening elsewhere, it's only a matter of time before it hits everyone, or maybe Lam has some specific factors keeping it afloat. Curious to hear what others are observing.

Lam's business is in equipment, which tends to have longer sales cycles and can lag behind the fluctuations in chip manufacturing itself. While the consumer side of semiconductors might be slowing, the investment in future capacity and technology development continues, which is where Lam plays. Keep an eye on their order book and backlog for a more accurate picture than consumer demand alone. It's a different segment of the industry, so direct comparisons to memory or foundry giants aren't always apples-to-apples. Still, no company is entirely immune to economic headwinds, so vigilance is always wise.
