Is anyone hearing if this is strictly limited to the Connell facility, or is this the first domino falling for the rest of the WA operations? It feels like we keep getting told that the demand is there, but the numbers clearly show they are scaling back hard. I’m seeing people with 10+ years of seniority getting walked out the door and it’s honestly rattling everyone’s nerves. Management keeps putting out these generic memos about 'streamlining,' but we all know that’s code for cutting costs to keep the shareholders happy while the actual production capacity is just being gutted. I’ve been trying to keep my head down and just hit my metrics, but after seeing 379 people let go just like that, it’s impossible to focus. If you’re at the HQ or one of the other plants, are you seeing any signs of a hiring freeze or are they just quietly replacing roles with cheaper labor? I’m starting to update my resume tonight because I don’t want to be caught off guard when the next round of notifications comes down the pipeline.

If you think this is only about Connell, you’re in for a rough surprise. Upper management has been signaling for months that efficiency is the new priority over footprint. They are looking at the bottom line, not the tenure of their employees. When you see senior staff being cut, the ship isn't just taking on water; it’s being lightened to stay afloat. Prepare for further consolidations in the region because the demand they talk about isn't translating into the kind of profit margins they need to satisfy the shareholders. Stay sharp and keep your resume updated.

Everyone is on edge right now, but let’s be realistic. This has been a long time coming given the inventory levels and the shifting market landscape. I’ve seen this playbook before—they slice off the underperforming assets first to stabilize the balance sheet before they touch the major hubs. The memos are just meant to keep the remaining floor staff from walking out en masse. Don't buy the corporate speak; this is pure survival mode. Watch the other WA locations closely over the next two quarters because the 'streamlining' is far from over.
