Lamb Weston: Slowdown or something more serious brewing?

What's going on at LW? Seeing a lot of internal comms about 'optimizing resources' and 'streamlining processes'. Sounds like corporate speak for cuts to me, but again, no official word. My team's been tasked with reducing overhead by X% next quarter, which is a significant ask. It feels different from previous years. Less about efficiency gains and more about just... reducing. Anyone in [different department, e.g., R&D/Marketing] feeling this? Are projects being shelved? Are we bracing for impact or is this just a strategic shift that's poorly communicated? Would be good to hear if others are experiencing similar pressures. Trying to prepare mentally, if nothing else.

Yeah, definitely feeling the pinch over in [another department]. We were told to re-evaluate all ongoing projects and prioritize only the absolute essentials. A few promising initiatives are on ice indefinitely, which is frustrating. It feels like a real tightening of the purse strings, not just a typical seasonal adjustment. My manager is being tight-lipped, but the vibe is definitely one of caution.

This sounds familiar. We've also had a lot of meetings about 'strategic realignment' and 'synergies.' Internally, people are calling it the 'belt-tightening season' again. While some efficiency improvements are always good, the scale of the requests for cost reduction this time around feels more aggressive. I'm hoping it's just a reaction to market fluctuations and not indicative of deeper issues.
