The vibe at LW right now is toxic

Can we talk about how morale is basically nonexistent? The constant threat of these 'right-sizing' initiatives has everyone looking over their shoulder instead of doing actual work. The latest 379 layoffs weren't even a surprise to some, which is the most depressing part. We’ve normalized the idea that your tenure means nothing and you’re just a line item on an Excel sheet that they want to delete. I’m tired of the town halls where they talk about 'resilience' and 'innovation' while simultaneously cutting the teams that actually build the products. It’s impossible to feel motivated when you’re waiting for the next calendar invite that says 'Brief Meeting' with HR. If you’re currently looking for an exit strategy, what industry are you pivoting to? I’m looking at other CPGs but honestly, it feels like the whole sector is just as shaky. Just venting at this point, but damn, this company used to be a place where you could build a career, not just survive until the next round of cuts.

It’s honestly soul-crushing to watch the culture collapse like this. I remember when this place actually felt like a team, but now it’s just a revolving door of anxiety and corporate jargon. Those town halls are the worst—listening to leadership preach about 'resilience' while they treat our livelihoods like disposable expenses is just insulting. Everyone I talk to has their resume updated and is just waiting for the next round of cuts to hit. The trust is completely gone, and it’s impossible to care about the work when you don't even know if you'll have a desk next month.

The level of burnout here is unsustainable. People are doing the jobs of three people because of the attrition, and then we’re expected to act excited about 'innovation' during those miserable meetings. Management seems disconnected from reality, choosing to hide behind spreadsheets rather than addressing the fact that the actual talent is walking out the door. It’s no longer about growing a career; it’s just survival mode. If they keep prioritizing short-term financial optics over the people who keep the plants running, there won't be much of a company left to save.
