82 roles gone in SF—the Vegas silence is deafening

Just saw the WARN notice for Folsom Street. 82 people headed out the door in November. Everyone keeps saying it’s just a localized restructure for the corporate office, but I’ve been here long enough to know how this plays out. It starts with the auxiliary offices, then they tighten the screws on the property level to 'increase operational efficiency.' Management is acting like everything is business as usual, but the energy in the halls is completely dead. You walk past empty desks and nobody even talks about it anymore—it’s like they’re trying to pretend the ship isn’t taking on water. Does anyone in Vegas know if the actual resort ops are next, or are they just purging the non-essentials in California? I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop. If you’re at Folsom, I hope you’ve been brushing up the resume. This company used to feel like a career, now it just feels like a countdown.

I've been through two rounds of these so-called 'restructurings' at LVS, and the script is always identical. They start by pruning the satellite offices under the guise of efficiency to avoid panicking the casino floor staff, but we all know the end game. Once the corporate cuts are finalized, the focus shifts to shrinking headcount at the properties to boost margins for the shareholders. If you’re seeing empty desks and management playing coy, start polishing your resume now. They aren't telling you the whole story because they don't want a mass exodus before they're ready to flip the switch on the next phase.

It is honestly pathetic how they try to gaslight everyone into thinking this is just a minor realignment. I’ve seen enough of these 'streamlining' initiatives to know that morale is the last thing on their priority list. While they’re busy crunching numbers and talking about operational efficiency, actual people’s lives are being upended. The silence from leadership isn't just lack of communication; it’s a calculated move to keep the ship steady while they bleed out talent. Keep your head down, protect your data, and make sure you’ve got your network ready, because this is rarely the final wave.
