Is the July 13th reduction the start of a broader trend?

Watching the news hit yesterday about the 305 headcount reduction at Leidos was a gut punch, even if I wasn't on the list this time. I’ve been with the company for five years, and the atmosphere in the office has felt increasingly strained over the last two quarters. Management keeps preaching 'efficiency' and 'streamlining operations,' but we all know that’s just corporate speak for cutting costs to keep the shareholders happy before the fiscal year ends. It’s hard to focus on mission-critical deliverables when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if your program is next on the chopping block. I’ve noticed a lot of talent jumping ship to smaller contractors recently, and after seeing these numbers, I can’t say I blame them. Does anyone have a sense of whether this was a one-off cleanup of redundant roles post-merger or if leadership is planning another wave of cuts for Q4? I’m genuinely considering putting my resume out there before the next round of 'strategic alignment' happens. Staying loyal doesn't seem to get you anything but anxiety these days.
