Linde - Anyone else's team absorbing extra work?

It feels like we're all being asked to do more with less here at Linde. My team, in particular, has lost a couple of people in the last quarter (not through layoffs, people left for other opportunities), and management hasn't been quick to backfill. Instead, we're just being told to 'optimize' and 'be more efficient' to cover the gaps. I'm seeing this pattern mirrored in conversations with colleagues in other departments too. It's starting to feel like a quiet way to reduce headcount or at least increase workload significantly without overt cuts. Anyone else experiencing this 'absorb and optimize' strategy? Curious if this is a broader Linde trend or just my unlucky corner of the company. Feeling the strain.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling the same pressure. It's like there's this unspoken expectation that we should just absorb the extra workload without complaint. The 'optimize and be efficient' talk feels like a thinly veiled way to avoid hiring. Makes you wonder about the long-term strategy, doesn't it? It's exhausting trying to keep up when you're constantly stretched thin, and the support just isn't there to backfill. Hopefully, things improve, but for now, it's just about getting through the day.

Totally relate to this. We've been told the same 'efficiency' lines when we've raised concerns about overloaded schedules. It's frustrating because it implies we're not working hard enough already. The reality is, with fewer people, the quality of work can suffer, and burnout is a real risk. It's a shame when good people leave and the company doesn't seem to value retaining talent by making sure teams are properly staffed. Just feels like a treadmill right now.
