Loews: Hiring freeze rumor or just slow hiring?

Has anyone else noticed that Loews has really slowed down hiring across the board? I've been keeping an eye on openings in my department and the number of new postings has dropped significantly in the last quarter. Plus, some of the roles that were posted a while ago seem to be stuck in the pipeline, with no updates from recruiters. I know it's not unusual for companies to adjust hiring based on market conditions, but it feels more pronounced here. Is this a quiet hiring freeze, or just a general slowdown? Wondering if this is a sign of things to come, or just standard cyclical business. Anybody in recruiting or HR at Loews have any insight into the hiring strategy right now? Trying to gauge the overall health of the company from this perspective.

I've seen similar things. The pace definitely feels different than it did a year ago. It's hard to say if it's a full freeze or just a more cautious approach. Recruiters seem less responsive, and the whole process feels drawn out. I'm trying not to read too much into it, but it's definitely noticeable if you're actively looking or just keeping tabs.

Interesting you bring this up. I thought it was just me. Applied for a few roles and it's been crickets for weeks. Usually, you get at least an automated rejection or a request for more info by now. The lack of movement across several departments I track makes me suspect something is up. Could be a strategic pause, or maybe they're just being super selective.
