Lumen: Is the silence before a storm at Lumen?

Long-time lurker here, first time posting. Been with Lumen for a few years now, and honestly, it feels like things have been pretty stable, at least on the surface. But I've been getting a weird vibe lately. Management is tight-lipped about future plans, and there's been a noticeable slowdown in hiring for some teams. I know there wasn't a major wave after Q4, but sometimes the smaller, more targeted cuts happen later, or maybe they're waiting for the next financial review. I'm not trying to spread doom and gloom, but I'm also not trying to be blindsided. Has anyone noticed any unusual patterns in performance reviews, or shifts in project priorities that seem a little...strategic? Curious if others are feeling this, or if I'm just overthinking things. Just want to prepare myself mentally and professionally if something is indeed on the horizon. Any insights from those who've seen this kind of thing before at Lumen or elsewhere would be helpful.

I've been in a similar boat, seeing the same quiet on the hiring front and hearing very little about strategic direction. It's definitely unsettling when communication seems to dry up. Hoping it's just a strategic pause and not a sign of bigger issues brewing. The lack of clarity is what gets to me the most; makes it hard to plan or even feel secure about the long term.

Interesting perspective. My experience hasn't been quite as quiet, but I can see what you mean about management's communication. We've had some internal shifts that felt like they weren't fully explained, and the hiring freezes certainly raise an eyebrow. Always a bit of a gamble in this industry, but hoping Lumen navigates this period smoothly for everyone involved.
