Rumor Mill: Heard anything about specific teams affected?

Okay, so obviously everyone is on edge. But has anyone heard anything *specific* about which departments might be targeted if layoffs do happen? I'm in product management, and our team has been strangely quiet lately. Usually, we're swamped with new initiatives, but the last few weeks have been eerily calm. My gut is telling me something's up. I know it's all speculation until it actually happens, but sharing what you've heard (anonymously, of course) might help us all prepare, or at least mentally brace ourselves. I've heard whispers that the cloud division might be restructuring... anyone else hear that or anything concrete about other teams? I'm just trying to understand my risk. Also, if anyone's gone through a layoff here before, what kind of notice period did they give?

Heard through the grapevine that anything related to 'future-proofing' or 'innovation' is getting a closer look. Could mean anything, really, but maybe start documenting your team's recent wins and contributions to the bottom line. Data always helps, even if it's just for your resume. Better to be prepared than blindsided.

Honestly, this happens every year. Someone hears something, then it snowballs. I've been through three 'restructurings' at Lumen. The 'quiet before the storm' is usually just...quiet. Project timelines shift, priorities change. Product Management is generally considered a core function. Stop stressing and enjoy the peace while it lasts.
