Hey everyone, been with Marathon Oil for a few years now, mostly in operations. Lately, there's been a weird vibe. Budgets feel tighter, some projects are on hold, and there are whispers about 'streamlining' and 'efficiency improvements' in meetings. Nothing concrete has been announced, no official WARN notices or anything like that, but the air feels… heavy. It's making it hard to focus. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on the same signals or if I'm just overthinking it. Are you seeing budget cuts or hiring freezes in your departments? Any unusual all-hands meetings lately? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if it's just my specific division. Just want to prepare myself and my family if something is brewing. I'm right there with you. I'm in engineering and we've definitely seen a slowdown in approvals for new initiatives. A lot of 'can we defer this?' or 'is there a cheaper way?' conversations lately. Yeah, I've noticed it too. It's that quiet uncertainty that's the most unsettling. You hear the buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'optimization,' and while those can be good things, when they're used constantly without clear direction, it breeds anxiety.
