So the WARN notice finally hit the public record for that May 28th layoff. 500 people gone in Houston, and it feels like the dust is just now settling. I’ve been hearing whispers about another wave coming before the end of the year, but nobody in leadership will give us a straight answer. It’s the classic 'do more with less' mantra, but the workload is becoming unsustainable for those of us left behind. Is anyone else seeing their departments being gutted, or is it mostly localized to corporate/back-office support? I’m exhausted from the 'restructuring' emails that don't actually say anything. Trying to decide if I should jump ship now or wait for a severance package that might never come. This place has changed so much in the last two years.

The uncertainty is honestly the worst part. Watching good people get pushed out while expectations stay sky-high is demoralizing. At this point, the lack of transparency from management is just fuel for the rumor mill. We all know the 'do more with less' line is just code for pending burnout. I'm keeping my resume polished because waiting for the next shoe to drop is no way to spend a work week.

It is definitely not just corporate. We are feeling the squeeze across the board, and the resource thinning is becoming impossible to ignore. They talk about efficiency, but the actual result is just institutional knowledge walking out the door. If you are hearing whispers about a second wave, pay attention to the silence coming from the top. When they stop talking about growth and start avoiding questions, you know the next phase of cost-cutting is already in motion.
