Hiring freezes and whispers of restructuring

Hey everyone, I've been at Marriott for a few years now, and lately, the vibe feels...off. It started subtly a few months back with a noticeable slowdown in hiring for some roles, and now it feels more like a freeze in many departments. My team's manager even mentioned that new headcount approvals are virtually non-existent. On top of that, there are quiet conversations happening about 'efficiency reviews' and 'streamlining operations' across different brands and corporate functions. It's making me a bit uneasy, to be honest. I haven't seen any official announcements or heard any concrete news about layoffs, but the general feeling of uncertainty is palpable. Anyone else picking up on this? Are your departments experiencing similar hiring freezes or hearing similar buzzwords about restructuring? Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or if I'm just in a particularly affected area.

I've heard similar rumblings in my division. It's definitely a shift from the usual growth trajectory we've seen. While I understand the need to adapt to market conditions, the lack of clear communication is creating a lot of anxiety. Hoping for some transparency soon so we can all understand the path forward.

It's unsettling to see these changes after putting in the work. The talk of restructuring makes you wonder about job security and future opportunities.
