Is the corporate office actually planning more cuts?

With the latest round of layoffs hitting, the vibe at the office is incredibly toxic right now. Management keeps dropping phrases about 'streamlining operations' and 'focusing on core growth,' which we all know is just code for more heads rolling soon. I’ve been here for a few years, but I’ve never seen the uncertainty this high. People are updating their LinkedIn profiles during lunch and whispering in the breakrooms. Is anyone else hearing rumors about upcoming reductions in other departments or regions? It feels like the company is trying to trim as much fat as possible before the end of the year to make the balance sheet look better for investors. Honestly, it makes it hard to even care about the daily tasks when you’re wondering if you’ll have a badge that works on Monday morning. Any intel on whether the hiring freeze is going to expand or if more layoffs are expected before January?

I've been hearing the same whispers in the hallways for weeks. Management loves to hide behind corporate buzzwords like 'synergy' and 'efficiency' while everyone is just waiting for the next shoe to drop. It’s honestly exhausting to show up every day wondering if today is the day your access gets cut. Most of my team has already stopped investing in long-term projects because nobody expects to be here by the end of the quarter. Good luck to everyone holding on, but it’s definitely time to dust off the resume and start looking for an exit strategy before the next round hits.

It is incredibly draining to work in this climate. The constant talk of streamlining is clearly just a euphemism for cutting costs at the expense of the people who actually keep this place running. I remember when Marriott felt like a stable place to build a career, but that sentiment has completely evaporated. Honestly, the silence from leadership on the specific long-term plan is more concerning than the rumors themselves. If you are feeling uneasy, trust your gut—the atmosphere is clearly shifting, and it is usually best to prioritize your own security over company loyalty right now.
