Morale seems really low lately, anyone else notice?

Hey everyone, Been with Marriott for a bit now, and I'm not sure if it's just my department or if it's a company-wide thing, but the vibe has been pretty off recently. People seem more stressed, quieter in meetings, and there's this underlying tension. I've heard whispers about budget cuts, hiring freezes, and some reorgs happening behind the scenes. Nothing concrete, mind you, just the usual office gossip mill. But combined with the general economic climate and the hospitality industry still finding its footing post-pandemic, it's hard not to feel a little uneasy. Are others in different divisions seeing similar things? Are projects getting pushed back, or are teams being asked to do more with less? Just trying to gauge if this is something others are experiencing or if I'm just overthinking it. Curious to hear what others are observing, especially if you're in a different brand or region. Stay safe out there.

Yeah, I've felt it too. It's not just your department, it feels like a widespread thing across many brands. The pressure to perform with fewer resources is definitely palpable. It's tough when you see good people stressed and the general atmosphere is less than enthusiastic. Hopefully, leadership addresses these concerns soon.

Definitely noticing the dip in morale. Seems like there's a lot of uncertainty swirling around, which is understandable given the industry's fluctuations and potential internal changes. People are trying their best, but the constant undercurrent of 'what's next?' makes it hard to stay positive. Fingers crossed things improve.
