Is the Ypsilanti office closure signaling a wider trend?

I’ve been tracking the WARN notices and saw the latest filings for the Ypsilanti site. It feels like every time I turn around, there’s another 'restructuring' event or a consolidation project hitting a specific region. Management keeps pushing the 'One Marsh' narrative, but it’s hard to feel like one team when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder wondering if your office is next on the chopping block. I’ve been with MMC for a few years now, and the atmosphere has shifted dramatically since the transition. It used to feel like a stable place to build a career, but now it feels like a revolving door. For those of you in other hubs, are you seeing similar patterns, or is this just localized to the regional offices? I’m trying to figure out if I should stay put or start looking for an exit strategy before the next round of 'synergy' adjustments hits. The lack of transparency from leadership is honestly the most frustrating part. They tell us everything is fine one week, and then we’re getting mass invites for 1-on-1s the next. If you have any intel on whether there’s a broader plan to scale back headcount across the board this quarter, please share.

The 'One Marsh' branding has always felt like a corporate mask for ruthless cost-cutting. It’s a classic strategy: streamline operations under the guise of unity while quietly thinning the herd to appease shareholders. If you’re seeing these filings in Ypsilanti, don't expect it to stop there. Leadership is obsessed with margins, and they prioritize global consolidation over the stability of local teams. Keep your resume updated and start networking outside the firm now, because the 'restructuring' cycle is clearly the new operational baseline.

I'm sorry you're dealing with that uncertainty. It’s incredibly draining to work in an environment where the culture feels like it’s being eroded by constant consolidation announcements. When management prioritizes these large-scale shifts, the human element—your team, your office, and your morale—tends to get lost in the spreadsheet. Just remember that your skills are portable and highly valued in the industry. Don't let the corporate anxiety consume you; focus on what you can control, and don't hesitate to look for a more stable path elsewhere.
