Marsh McLennan - What's the word on hiring freezes?

Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of chatter across industries about hiring freezes and budget cuts. Given the current economic climate, I'm wondering if anyone at Marsh McLennan (MMC) has noticed any slowdowns on the hiring front? Any teams on a 'don't hire' list, or has anyone experienced a delay in offers being extended? I'm not seeing any official layoff announcements, but sometimes the quiet before the storm is just as telling. Curious to hear what people are observing, especially within different business segments like consulting, risk & insurance services, etc. Is anyone's department seeing reduced headcount projections for the next fiscal year, even if not immediate layoffs? Just trying to get a pulse on the situation here. Thanks for any insights.

I've been with MMC for a couple of years now and haven't personally seen any widespread hiring freezes. My team has continued to backfill roles as needed, and we've even brought on a few new people this quarter. Of course, it might depend on the specific division or business unit. It's always a good idea to keep an eye on internal postings and talk to your network within the company. Sometimes the general buzz doesn't always reflect the reality on the ground for every department.

My experience has been a bit different. While there haven't been any official freezes announced, I have noticed a definite slowdown in the pace of hiring for some positions. Some requisitions that were open for months seem to have gone quiet, and there have been a few instances where offers were put on hold or rescinded unexpectedly. It feels like a more cautious approach is being taken, with closer scrutiny on headcount additions across the board. Might be worth checking with recruiters directly about the status of specific roles you're interested in.
