MMC - Anyone else seeing a hiring freeze or slowdown?

Hey everyone, has anyone else noticed a significant slowdown in hiring or maybe even a soft freeze across Marsh McLennan? I've been keeping an eye on open roles within my department and also seeing what's popping up externally, and it feels like things have really tightened up in the last month or two. Applications seem to be sitting in review for ages, and recruiters aren't as responsive as they used to be. This is on top of the general market uncertainty. Just wanted to see if this is a widespread observation or if it's specific to certain divisions. Curious to hear if anyone has inside info or has been told anything unofficially. Trying to gauge the general sentiment here.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that too. Applied for a couple of positions a while back and the silence has been deafening. Used to get at least an automated rejection within a week, but now... crickets. It's a bit concerning, especially with the economy being what it is. Makes you wonder if they're restructuring or just bracing for tougher times. Hope it picks back up soon.

I can confirm that observation. My team had an open req that they ended up pulling last week, even though it was critical. Management cited budget constraints and a 'strategic pause' on all new hires, effective immediately. It wasn't just a slowdown; it was a hard stop. Seems pretty widespread across several business units I've spoken with informally. Definitely a shift from even a few months ago.
