MMC - Anyone else seeing reduced travel/expense budgets?

Lately, it feels like the purse strings are being tightened at MMC. I've noticed a significant ramp-up in scrutiny for travel requests, and expense reports seem to be under a microscope more than usual. My team lead mentioned something about 'efficiency initiatives' and 'optimizing resources,' which sounds like corporate speak for cutting costs. Has anyone else experienced this? Are budgets for things like client entertainment, training, or even office supplies being slashed? It's making me a bit nervous, especially since there's no concrete news about layoffs. It feels like a precursor, or maybe just a general belt-tightening phase. Wondering if this is company-wide or isolated to certain departments. Let me know what you're seeing.

Yeah, I've definitely felt that too. Seems like every single expense needs a triple justification now, and the approval process is taking longer than ever. Heard similar chatter about 'streamlining' and 'belt-tightening' across different departments. Makes you wonder if it's a general economic trend hitting the company or something more specific to our performance. Hopefully, it's just a temporary adjustment and not a sign of bigger issues down the line. It's certainly changing how we plan projects and client interactions.

I haven't seen any official memo, but the vibe is definitely different. My department's discretionary budget for external workshops and conferences got cut pretty significantly this quarter, and we're being pushed to find more virtual alternatives. Even day-to-day office supply orders are facing stricter limits. It’s frustrating when you feel like you can't adequately support client needs or invest in your own professional development because of these restrictions. Just trying to adapt and make do with less, I guess.
