Lately, the general vibe across a few teams I interact with at Marsh McLennan just feels… off. Less enthusiasm, more quiet conversations, and a general sense of uncertainty. People seem a bit more guarded, and there's definitely a dip in the usual camaraderie. It's hard to pinpoint exactly, but the energy feels different than it did even a few months ago. Is anyone else picking up on this? It's not just about potential layoffs, but more about the day-to-day atmosphere. Feels like people are just waiting for something to happen, good or bad. I've been feeling it too. It's like a cloud has settled over things. The usual buzz just isn't there, and even casual interactions feel a bit strained. There's a definite undercurrent of people being more watchful and less willing to openly share or take risks. It's a noticeable shift from how it used to be, and it's making the day-to-day a lot less enjoyable.

Interesting you bring this up. I hadn't quite put my finger on it, but yes, there's a distinct change in the air. It feels like there's more focus on just getting through the day rather than driving innovation or collaboration. People seem a little less engaged, and the spontaneous moments of connection seem fewer and farther between. Hopefully, it's a temporary lull.
