Anyone have experience with Masco severance if things go south?

This is a bit of a preemptive question, but with all the chatter about potential restructuring at Masco, I'm starting to think about worst-case scenarios. I've been with the company for 6 years, currently in a [mention a generic role like Project Manager or Senior Analyst] role. Thankfully, no official news yet, but the uncertainty is gnawing at me. Does anyone have any anecdotal info on what Masco's severance packages are typically like? What about extended health benefits or outplacement services? Any insight from those who might have gone through this before at Masco, or even at similar companies in the building products space, would be super helpful. Just trying to be prepared in case the worst happens. Thanks in advance.

Hey, I completely understand the anxiety. It's smart to prepare for the worst, even if it doesn't happen. I don't have direct experience with Masco's severance, but in my previous company, after a similar period of uncertainty, they offered a pretty standard package: a week's pay for every year of service, plus two months of COBRA coverage. Some places do offer outplacement services, which can be really helpful in updating your resume and practicing interview skills. Keep an eye on official communications, but it doesn't hurt to start networking casually now just in case.

Honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock in rumors. Companies are always talking about restructuring. If something official comes out, then worry. Until then, focus on your work and what you can control. If a layoff does happen, severance packages are usually pretty formulaic based on tenure. Six years isn't a super long time, so don't expect anything life-changing, but it should be something. Health benefits are usually a non-negotiable for a few months. Outplacement is a nice perk but often minimal.
