Masco - Anyone looking elsewhere?

So, while there's no official layoff announcement at Masco, the current economic climate and the general uncertainty in the housing market has me thinking about my next steps. My role is in product development, and while we haven't seen any cuts, I'm seeing less investment in new initiatives and a lot more focus on cost-saving. It's making me question the long-term growth potential here. I've started casually browsing other opportunities, mostly in related building materials or even tech companies that value my skillset. Anyone else in a similar boat? What's driving your decision to look, or conversely, what's keeping you at Masco right now? Curious to hear other perspectives before making any rash decisions.

Completely understand the caution. It's smart to be proactive when you see those kinds of shifts, especially in product development. The housing market's been so unpredictable, and companies are definitely tightening their belts. Focusing on cost-saving over new investment can be a sign of either a temporary pause or a more fundamental strategic pivot. Glad you're keeping an eye on the market; diversification of opportunities is always a good idea in uncertain times. Hope you find something that aligns with your long-term goals.

Yeah, that feeling of stalled investment is definitely a red flag for growth potential. Even without official word, the operational changes you're observing speak volumes. Product development thrives on forward momentum, and seeing that dialed back for cost control suggests a potential plateau. It's wise to explore other avenues, whether it's in similar sectors or even a pivot to tech where innovation might still be prioritized differently. Good luck with the search!
