Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. Been with Masco for a few years now, and while there haven't been any official announcements or rumors of widespread layoffs, I've been noticing a weird shift lately. Projects seem to be getting scrutinized more heavily, budgets are tighter than usual, and there's a general sense of 'heads down, keep your nose clean' attitude across my team. Some senior folks have been a bit cagey when asked about future plans. It's not panic mode yet, but the air is definitely... different. Anyone else in other Masco divisions or departments picking up on similar vibes? Is it just my imagination or is there a subtle slowdown happening? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide thing or just specific to my corner of the building products world. Curious to hear what others are seeing/hearing.

That's interesting you mention the tighter budgets and project scrutiny. We've definitely seen a similar trend in our area. It feels like there's more pressure to justify every expense and demonstrate clear ROI for everything we do. It's not necessarily negative, but it does create a different atmosphere where you're constantly aware of the financial implications of your work. Definitely a shift from a few years ago. Hope it's just a seasonal thing or a strategic adjustment rather than something more concerning.

I hear you on the 'heads down' vibe. It's like everyone's walking on eggshells a little. The caginess from senior folks is also a red flag. While I haven't personally felt the crunch directly in terms of workload, there's definitely an underlying tension that's hard to ignore. Makes you wonder what's really going on behind closed doors. Let's hope it's just a temporary phase and things stabilize soon.
