McCormick's 'Spicy' Future - What's the Strategy?

Hey everyone, been with McCormick for a few years now, and while things are generally stable, I can't shake this feeling that we're coasting. Saw an old interview with Matt McCormick (way off site, I know, but the vibe stuck with me) talking about innovation and staying ahead of trends. Makes me wonder if we're really doing that. The consumer goods space is moving so fast – plant-based, personalized nutrition, direct-to-consumer models. Are we aggressively investing in these areas, or just tweaking existing product lines? Leadership seems to be talking a good game, but I'm not seeing the big, bold moves that really signal a future-proof strategy. It feels like we're great at what we do, but 'what we do' might be slowly becoming less relevant. Anyone else in a similar boat? Curious to hear what others think about the company's direction and if you see real growth opportunities or more of a maintenance mode. Trying to gauge if this is just my perspective or if others feel the same way about our long-term outlook. Let's keep it constructive!

Interesting take. I've been wondering about the same thing. We have such a strong brand name and a history of quality, but it feels like we're not capturing the newer waves of consumer interest. I've noticed a lot of smaller, niche brands popping up that seem to be hitting those innovation points you mentioned – especially around healthier options and unique flavor profiles. It'd be great to see McCormick really lean into that, maybe through acquisitions or more visible R&D into those emerging markets. The legacy is there, but the future needs some serious nurturing.
