Morale Seems Low - Anyone Else Agree?

I don't know if it's just me or my specific department, but the general morale at McCormick feels pretty low lately. It's not just about potential layoffs, though that's always in the back of everyone's mind, especially with the market being what it is. It feels more systemic. Communication from upper management has been pretty sparse on the big picture stuff, and there's a disconnect between the 'we're doing great' messaging and what people are actually seeing on the ground. Projects feel like they're constantly shifting priorities, and it’s hard to feel motivated when you're not sure what’s important next week. Has anyone else picked up on this? Wondering if it’s just a tough period or if there’s a deeper issue with how things are being managed.

I've definitely felt that too. It's more than just budget concerns; it's about feeling valued and informed. When big decisions happen without clear explanations, it breeds uncertainty and a sense of being out of the loop. Hopefully, leadership can start bridging that communication gap because it's impacting productivity and, frankly, people's willingness to go the extra mile.

You're not alone. The lack of transparency on strategic direction is palpable. It's hard to stay motivated when you don't understand the 'why' behind the 'what.' It feels like we're just executing tasks without a clear vision, which can be really demotivating, especially when you know the company has faced tougher times and come through them with better communication.
