Anyone else caught in the Poynette office cuts?

Just saw the WARN notice hit for the Poynette location. 28 people total, looks like the effective date is late June. Honestly, the way they handled it—locking down the offices like it's some sort of high-stakes security thriller—is just insulting. We aren't state secrets; we're just people who helped keep the supply chain and regional ops running. I’ve been at the firm for four years, and to be notified this way feels like a slap in the face. Is everyone else getting the same generic transition packet, or is there actually some movement on severance packages? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth fighting for more, or if I should just cut my losses and start grinding on the job apps. Any advice for those of us officially on the chopping block?

I'm really sorry to hear you're going through this. The way these corporate giants handle layoffs is always so cold and detached. It’s infuriating how they treat long-term employees like expendable line items on a spreadsheet rather than actual people. Don't let the way they ended things define your worth. You contributed four years of your life to that place, and you deserve much better than a generic transition packet and a lockdown. Take some time to breathe, update your resume, and look for a company that actually values its staff.

Honestly, it’s not surprising at all. McDonald’s has been restructuring aggressively to cut overhead, and they rarely care about the optics or the human cost when they decide to trim the fat. The security theater is just their way of avoiding potential 'disruptions' because they’re terrified of their own employees. It’s a ruthless environment, and unfortunately, you're just the latest casualty of their corporate strategy. Don't take the lack of empathy personally—it's standard operating procedure for them. Best of luck with the next chapter, hopefully somewhere with actual management.
