Anyone else notice the increase in 'cross-functional collaboration' meetings?

Lately, it feels like my calendar is just back-to-back 'cross-functional collaboration' sessions. At first, I thought it was just a normal part of how things work here, but now it feels different. It's like they're trying to get people talking to each other more, but not in a good way. More like they're trying to figure out who does what, and maybe who isn't pulling their weight, or whose job could be absorbed by someone else. We're hearing all the buzzwords about 'synergy' and 'efficiency', but it just feels like a thinly veiled way to assess redundancies. Anyone else experiencing this? What's your take?
