Yeah, that's definitely a pattern I've seen before in other companies. When they start offering sweetened early retirement packages, it's often a way to trim headcount without resorting to outright layoffs. It can be a bit of a canary in the coal mine for restructurings. The voluntary aspect makes it seem less like a mandate, but the timing with office news certainly raises eyebrows. Hopefully, it's just standard procedure and not a sign of trouble.
Interesting. I haven't heard anything like that in my area of McDonald's, but our division is pretty self-contained. We've had some standard retirements, of course, but no special packages being dangled. The 'reorganization' talk has been around for a while though, so maybe this is just a precursor to some shifts. It's good you're keeping an eye on it. Always wise to stay informed about what's happening behind the scenes.
