Another round of cuts and the silence is deafening

It feels like we’re back to the usual cycle. Another 195 roles gone in Oregon, and yet we’re getting the same 'business as usual' messaging on the all-hands calls. Leadership keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'streamlining our core capabilities,' but it’s really just code for doing the work of three people with half the resources. I’m exhausted. The morale is basically non-existent at this point, and it’s getting hard to justify staying when you're waiting for the next round of notifications to drop. Does anyone actually trust the current roadmap anymore, or are we all just waiting for our turn on the chopping block?

I hear you. The disconnect between those all-hands scripts and the reality on the ground is getting impossible to ignore. Every time they use words like 'streamlining' or 'synergy,' I just see more empty desks and heavier workloads for those of us still here. It’s draining to watch good people walk out the door while management acts like everything is under control. You’re definitely not alone in feeling like you're just waiting for the next shoe to drop. Take care of yourself, because this place certainly isn’t going to.

Honestly, why are we still surprised? This is the playbook every single year. They promise stability while cutting headcount, and then they wonder why the output drops and burnout skyrockets. It’s all about protecting the margins at the expense of the people who actually keep the lights on. If you’re feeling exhausted, listen to that gut feeling. There’s no point in burning yourself out for a company that treats institutional knowledge like a line item to be deleted to make the quarterly numbers look slightly better.
