The 'optimization' narrative is getting really old. Everyone knows that when they start talking about streamlining processes, it’s code for a budget axe. Based on what’s trickling down from leadership, I’d be shocked if we didn’t see another round of cuts by Q4. The atmosphere is definitely tense, and the lack of transparency is making it impossible to focus on actual work. Keep your resume updated and stay sharp—the silence from upper management is usually the biggest red flag.
I honestly think people are overreacting a bit. Every major company in this space goes through cycles like this, and while the Lawrence situation is unfortunate, it doesn't necessarily mean a company-wide purge is imminent. I've survived three reorgs here, and the best advice is to just keep your head down and perform. Panic rumors spread faster than actual news in these forums, and most of the time, they’re just based on hearsay. Just focus on your current projects and try to ignore the rumor mill.
