Feeling like a number: The decline of morale at McKesson

Is it just me, or has the atmosphere at McKesson shifted into something unrecognizable over the last 18 months? I remember when there was at least a facade of caring about the employees, but now it feels like we’re just line items on a spreadsheet meant to be deleted. The latest round of layoffs in Lawrence didn't even come with a sincere apology or a real plan for the people left behind to pick up the slack. I’m drowning in the work of three different people, and every time I bring it up to my manager, I get told to 'prioritize effectively.' How am I supposed to prioritize when the scope is constantly expanding because my teammates were cut? The burnout is real, and the pay definitely doesn't match the level of stress we’re dealing with right now. I’m genuinely worried that if I stay much longer, my health is going to take a hit. Anyone else feeling totally checked out and looking for an exit strategy?

I hear you loud and clear. It’s reached a breaking point where the workload expectations are completely disconnected from reality. They keep trimming staff while expecting the same output, and the lack of transparency from leadership is honestly insulting. It feels like they’re gutting the culture just to boost margins for the next quarter. I’ve started looking elsewhere because there’s no way this current pace is sustainable for anyone’s mental health or job security.

That’s the reality across the board, unfortunately. The shift from treating employees like actual people to viewing us as replaceable overhead has been brutal lately. Management seems to think that silence or corporate speak makes the transition easier, but it just breeds resentment and burnout. You aren't imagining things; the culture has definitely eroded. If you’re drowning, document everything and don't take on the extra load for free—they clearly don't have your back if you burn out.
