Is McKesson culture just toxic now?

I’ve been at McKesson for a few years and the vibe has shifted significantly since the last few rounds of restructuring. It feels like everyone is constantly looking over their shoulder instead of actually focusing on the work. We’re being asked to do more with fewer resources, and every time someone asks about stability, we get the corporate 'we are well-positioned for the future' script. Is it just me, or is the burnout rate becoming unsustainable? I see people hitting their breaking point left and right, and management seems completely disconnected from the reality on the ground. I’m starting to wonder if the benefits are even worth the stress anymore. Is anyone else looking to jump ship, or are you guys planning to stick it out and hope for the best? I feel like the company is turning into a revolving door and it’s exhausting to watch.

It is definitely not just you. The 'well-positioned' talking points have become a massive joke among my team. Ever since the recent leadership shifts, it feels like the focus has completely moved away from employee well-being toward squeezing every ounce of productivity out of the remaining staff. I have watched so many talented colleagues burn out and leave in the last six months alone. When they say they are doing more with less, they really mean they are waiting for the next layoff cycle to see who is left standing. It is exhausting to show up every day wondering if your role even exists next quarter.

I have a different take. Honestly, this is just how the industry is moving right now. Every large healthcare firm is streamlining operations to stay competitive, and while the restructuring is definitely uncomfortable, it is a necessary evolution to keep the company viable in this market. I focus on my own output and try to tune out the office politics and the constant speculation. If you treat it like a business transaction rather than a community, it becomes a lot easier to manage the stress. It is not perfect, but it is a stable paycheck in a volatile sector.
