Lawrence PA cuts: Anyone else seeing the writing on the wall?

Just saw the WARN notice for the 135 impacted in Lawrence. It’s getting hard to keep track of these regional shutdowns at this point. I’ve been with McKesson for a few years now, and the atmosphere in my department has shifted from 'we’re scaling' to 'keep your head down and hope you aren't next.' Is anyone else in the Pennsylvania hub feeling like the office is just being hollowed out? Management is still giving us the 'business transformation' talk, but it's getting impossible to ignore the numbers. I've started updating my resume on the side just in case. If you're based in Lawrence, are you hearing anything about severance or if they're offering internal transfers, or is it just 'thanks for your service, here's the door'?

It is the same story every quarter now. They keep hiding behind corporate jargon like 'strategic realignment' or 'business transformation' while the headcount continues to drop. I’ve seen this cycle repeat across different hubs, and it never ends well for the staff on the floor. Honestly, if you are feeling like the office is being hollowed out, trust your gut. Start polishing your resume and looking elsewhere before the next wave hits, because the 'keep your head down' strategy usually just makes you a sitting duck when they decide to trim another department.

I am sorry you are going through that stress. I was part of a similar wave last year and it was honestly a relief once the uncertainty was over. McKesson has become incredibly cold with these regional cuts; they treat long-term employees like simple spreadsheet line items. Don't buy into the leadership messaging about growth or transformation—it is strictly about reducing operational costs to satisfy shareholders. Take care of yourself first, focus on your exit plan, and try to network with people who have already moved on to more stable companies.
