Yeah, I've definitely felt that too. It's not just your team. We're seeing a lot more scrutiny on any new requests, and even existing budgets are being re-evaluated. The emphasis is clearly on essential services and things with a very direct, measurable impact. It's making it tough to get anything that isn't absolutely critical approved right now. Definitely feels tighter than usual.
Interesting you bring this up. My department has also been told to really tighten our belts. It's not just about justifying expenses, but also about finding ways to be more efficient with what we already have. There's been a push to delay non-essential travel and training, and a general 'wait and see' approach to new initiatives. Seems like the message from leadership is 'conserve and deliver on core'.
