McKesson - Budget cuts and hiring freeze suspected

Hey everyone, been with McKesson for a few years now in [Department Name]. Lately, things feel… different. We've had several team meetings where 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' are buzzwords, but there's been no concrete explanation. My manager is super cagey when asked about future projects or hiring. I've also noticed open reqs from months ago are still posted, and some have been quietly taken down without any explanation. On top of that, travel budgets have been slashed, and there's a general 'pause' on any non-essential spending. This feels like a prelude to something, and I'm not feeling optimistic. Anyone else in similar situations or have any insights? Trying to gauge if this is widespread or just my specific group.

That's concerning to hear. I've noticed similar vibes from my end, though in a different division. It's the hushed conversations and the lack of clear communication that really get to me. Feels like we're all trying to read between the lines, and it's creating a lot of unease. Hopefully, there's a straightforward explanation coming soon, but the silence is pretty deafening right now.

Interesting post. I'm not directly in your department, but the 'efficiency' and 'streamlining' talk has been circulating here too. It's usually a precursor to something bigger, and the budget tightening and frozen requisitions definitely align with that. Wondering how widespread this is across the company and what the long-term implications might be for projects and staffing levels.
