McKesson - Signs pointing to a restructuring?

Hey everyone, long-time McKesson employee here. Haven't seen any official announcements or even concrete rumors of layoffs, but there's definitely a strange energy lately. I've noticed a lot of vacant desks that aren't being refilled, and some projects that seemed important are suddenly being shelved or drastically scaled back. My manager's been pretty cagey when I've asked about team capacity and future goals, just giving vague answers about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining'. It feels like something's brewing under the surface. Has anyone else picked up on similar shifts or had conversations that shed light on what might be happening? Wondering if it's department-specific or a broader company initiative.

I've heard similar whispers, though nothing concrete. The 'efficiency' talk is especially concerning – it's often code for workforce reductions or significant role changes. It's understandable to feel uneasy when management isn't transparent. Keep an eye on internal communications and perhaps connect with colleagues in other departments to see if the pattern holds elsewhere. It might be worth discreetly looking into your options just in case.

That sounds really unsettling. The lack of clear communication from leadership can create a lot of anxiety for employees. When projects get shelved and desks stay empty, it's natural to assume something is changing, even without official word. Hopefully, it's just a temporary reorganization or a shift in strategic focus and not something more serious. Wishing you and your colleagues clarity soon.
