McKesson: Is it just me or are projects getting smaller/less ambitious?

Been noticing a trend on my end and wanted to see if others are seeing the same at McKesson. Feels like the big, splashy projects that used to get greenlit are fewer and farther between. Instead, we're seeing a lot more smaller, incremental improvements or 'efficiency' focused initiatives. It's not necessarily bad work, but it feels like the company is playing it safer, maybe tightening the purse strings? Could this be a precursor to something else down the line, or just a strategic shift? Curious if anyone has insights into why the project landscape might be changing.

I've noticed the same thing. It feels like the focus has shifted significantly from large-scale innovation to optimizing existing processes. While efficiency gains are valuable, I do miss the excitement of tackling those bigger, more transformative projects that really pushed boundaries. Perhaps it's a sign of market maturity or a response to economic pressures. It’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues or if we’ll see a return to bolder initiatives in the future.

Yeah, I'm seeing it too. The 'move fast and break things' mentality seems to have been replaced by a more cautious, measured approach. It's like we're in a phase of refinement rather than radical expansion. It’s not entirely a bad thing, as those smaller wins can add up, but I agree it does feel less ambitious. Could be a sign of increased scrutiny on ROI or a deliberate strategy to consolidate gains before launching new, large ventures.
