McKesson: 'Resource optimization' talk seems to be ramping up

Been hearing the phrase 'resource optimization' thrown around a lot more in meetings lately, especially in my division. It's not overtly negative, but the context feels a bit... pointed. It's coming up in discussions about project scope and team structures. It makes me wonder if they're looking at where headcount can be reduced or realigned, rather than just general efficiency improvements. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a company-wide push or specific to certain areas? It's hard to tell if it's just standard corporate speak for 'do more with less' or if there's a more significant underlying agenda. The vagueness is what's a bit unsettling.

I've definitely heard the same buzzwords in my department. It feels like a subtle way of saying cuts are coming, or at least a significant restructuring is on the horizon. The 'realignment' angle is particularly concerning – could mean people getting shifted to less desirable roles or even facing layoffs. Hope we get some clearer communication soon.

Interesting to hear others are picking up on this 'resource optimization' language. In my team, it's been framed as improving workflow and cutting down on redundancies, which sounds positive on paper. But yeah, the subtext is hard to ignore. It often precedes budget reviews and reassessments of needs. Following this thread closely.
