Six years is a long time to put into a place that treats you like a line item on a spreadsheet. I’ve been through two rounds of layoffs here, and the script never changes—just vague corporate jargon about optimization while they gut the talent. Honestly, start polishing your resume now. It’s painful, but the culture isn't going to get better, and you’re better off finding a team that actually values retention over short-term cuts. Don't wait for the next shoe to drop when you can walk out on your own terms.
That site closure is just another Tuesday at this point. It’s wild that they expect anyone to focus on the pipeline when everyone is terrified of being the next one on the list. I stopped listening to management months ago because the 'operational optimization' talk is just a euphemism for managed decline. It’s a shame to see so many good people let go, but management has shown us exactly where their priorities lie. Keep your head down, do the bare minimum, and spend your energy looking for an exit strategy before they decide your department is next.
