I feel your pain. It’s the classic corporate treadmill where they cut staff to hit quarterly margins, then wonder why projects are stalling. The reality is that the middle layer is so thin now that everyone is just doing three jobs at once. Innovation doesn't happen in a vacuum, and it certainly doesn't happen when we’re all spending eight hours a day on compliance forms and process realignment. Management keeps selling this as 'agility,' but at this point, we’re just running on fumes.
You're definitely not alone in feeling this way. It’s become a perpetual cycle of reorgs that feel more like cost-cutting exercises than actual strategic pivots. When you strip away the headcount, you lose the institutional knowledge that actually gets products to market. At some point, the leadership needs to realize that you can’t squeeze efficiency out of an exhausted workforce indefinitely. Either they start prioritizing sustainable workflows, or they’re going to watch the quality of the output crater as everyone jumps ship for greener pastures.
