Medtronic - Anyone else seeing a slowdown in new projects/initiatives?

Hey everyone, been with Medtronic for a few years now in [general area, e.g., R&D/Sales/Operations] and lately things feel...different. It's not a layoff announcement, but I've noticed a significant slowdown in the initiation of new projects and major strategic initiatives across my department and a few others I'm peripherally aware of. It feels like budgets are being scrutinized more heavily, and approvals are taking longer, if they're happening at all. People are still busy, but a lot of the work seems to be focused on 'business as usual' or finishing existing commitments rather than gearing up for what's next. Anyone else picking up on this? Is this a sign of belt-tightening or just a temporary lull?

Yes, definitely seeing this! Seems like there's a lot more caution around new spending and resource allocation. Internal processes for getting anything off the ground feel much slower, and there's a general sense of waiting for clearer direction from leadership. I can confirm this observation from my end. The pace has definitely changed. It feels like the focus has shifted to optimizing existing processes and ensuring current projects stay on track, rather than launching ambitious new ones. Approvals are becoming a bottleneck, and there's a palpable sense of 'wait and see' across several teams. Hopefully, this is a precursor to a more focused strategic push rather than a sign of stagnation.
