Medtronic: Anyone else seeing hiring slow to a crawl?

Been trying to get some new roles approved for my team for months now and it feels like I'm hitting brick walls everywhere. Used to be we could get headcount approved in a few weeks, maybe a month tops if it was complex. Now? It's crickets. HR keeps saying 'budget review' and 'strategic realignment' but nothing concrete. We're already stretched thin, and not being able to bring in fresh talent is going to hurt us long-term. Anyone else in a similar boat? Seeing approvals take forever or just get shut down? Curious if it's just my department or a broader trend.

I'm definitely feeling this. We've had roles open for months, and the approval process is glacial. It's frustrating because the workload hasn't decreased, and we're all feeling the strain. The explanations about 'budget reviews' and 'strategic realignments' are starting to feel like excuses for a hiring freeze. It's hard to plan for the future when you can't even get a new team member onboarded in a reasonable timeframe. Hopefully, things pick up soon.

Same here. The hiring slowdown is palpable across several departments I'm familiar with. What used to be a straightforward process for critical roles now feels like navigating a labyrinth with unclear directions. The impact on team morale and productivity is significant when people are already overloaded and can't get the support they need. It makes you wonder what the long-term strategy really is if talent acquisition is being stifled so severely.
