Anyone else getting the 'do more with less' message lately?

Just wanted to put this out there – lately, the messaging from leadership, even in smaller team meetings, has been heavy on 'driving efficiency' and 'optimizing resources.' It's the typical corporate speak, but the frequency and emphasis feel different. It's almost like they're laying the groundwork for something without saying it directly. I've seen some roles being 'evaluated' for consolidation, and there's definitely a hiring freeze in place for non-critical positions. It's making me nervous, especially with no clear communication about what this all means long-term. Anyone else interpreting this as a precursor to layoffs, or is it just standard business cycle stuff that I'm reading too much into? The lack of transparency is what's really gnawing at me. Feels like we're all just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
