Anyone else seeing a shift in project priorities and funding allocation?

Been at Merck for a few years now, and it feels like things are changing under the surface. Project priorities seem to be shifting pretty rapidly, and the budgets allocated to them feel a lot tighter than they used to. We're hearing a lot about 'strategic realignment' and 'efficiency gains,' which, frankly, sounds like corporate speak for something else. Some teams are definitely feeling the strain, with fewer resources and higher expectations. Is this just me, or are others experiencing a similar vibe where projects are being re-evaluated or getting less runway than anticipated? Wondering if this is a precursor to something bigger or just a typical cycle I haven't noticed before.

I've noticed the same thing. The "strategic realignment" talk is constant, and you can feel the pressure to do more with less. Definitely not just you. The atmosphere has felt a bit more cautious lately, with a focus on optimizing existing assets and a more rigorous review process for new initiatives. While efficiency is important, I agree that the rapid shifts and tighter budgets are making it challenging to maintain momentum on some fronts.
