Is anyone else seeing more 'efficiency drives' popping up?

Lately, it feels like every other meeting has someone talking about 'optimizing processes' or 'streamlining workflows.' It's the usual corporate speak, but the frequency is definitely up. I'm in [mention a general department like 'Clinical Ops' or 'Manufacturing'] and we're being asked to cut down on [mention a vague resource like 'consumables' or 'travel budget'] without any real explanation of how this won't impact our ability to deliver. It feels like a precursor to something bigger, or maybe just a way to justify budget cuts down the line. Has anyone else experienced this shift in messaging? Wondering if it's company-wide or just specific to certain divisions. Trying not to panic, but it's hard to ignore the vibe.

Yeah, I've noticed the same trend. It feels like the emphasis on 'efficiency' has really ramped up across the board. We're being pushed to find ways to do more with less, and it's putting a strain on resources in my area too. It's hard to see the long-term benefit when the immediate impact is increased pressure and fewer tools. Hopefully, it's not a sign of trouble, but it does make you wonder what's driving all this focus on cost-cutting right now.

Totally get what you mean. The 'streamlining' talk is everywhere. In my team, it translates to tighter deadlines and less room for error, which is already a challenge. They keep saying it's about being competitive, but without clear guidance or added support, it just feels like more work for the same outcomes. I'm trying to stay positive and see it as an opportunity to innovate, but it's a tough sell when you're already stretched thin.
