I'm in manufacturing and can confirm there's definitely a weird vibe. We've had some 'restructuring' announcements that felt like corporate speak for 'things are changing,' and some familiar faces are suddenly gone. The usual chatter about upcoming projects has been noticeably quieter, too. I'm trying to stay positive and focus on my work, but it's hard not to feel a bit anxious when the atmosphere shifts like this.
I haven't heard any direct confirmations of layoffs, but I'm definitely picking up on the unease you're describing. In my area, there's been a slowdown in bringing on new hires for certain roles, and a few long-term contractors weren't renewed. Meetings do feel a bit more tense, and there's a lot of speculation going around. It's good to know I'm not the only one feeling this, even if it's unsettling.
